I love the coast, the closer the better. However, the more I explore San Diego, the more I discover inland areas that can be equally appealing.
San Carlos, a neighborhood in eastern San Diego, is more rural, low crime, and everything within a few minute’s walk or driving distance. There is a lot to offer people who live in the area.

Today, I ventured over to the Murray Reservoir in San Carlos. The spot is perfect! Nature lovers and runners, you’re going to love it.
The reservoir hosts ducks paddling, mature trees, and plenty of parking/amenities. The trails are paved and flat with slight inclines.
Residential homes surround the trail. How convenient it would be to grab a cup of morning coffee, walk around the sparkling water, and start your day off right! Which got me to thinking…
