I first heard of the Meditation Gardens in Encinitas from my friend who is a flight attendant. Her job allows her to fly to amazing places and while she visits, she gets the opportunity to explore local gems. And that’s exactly what Meditation Gardens ended up being: a beautiful gem.
Meditation Gardens is located a few footsteps to the right of Encinitas Temple. The temple shares the universal teachings of Kriya Yoga, a sacred spiritual science originating millenniums ago in India.
Many come to meditate but if that’s not your cup of tea, you can simply take in the relaxing vibes of the garden greenery and listen to the breaking ocean waves.
The koi pond was a complete surprise. The pond is filled with vibrant foot-long fish tranquilly swimming from one side to the other.
Once you walk further in, the gardens break away to amazing ocean views!
Because the park closes at 5:00 pm, it is a push for time to catch the sunset. But never fear! If you walk a few blocks over outside of the gardens, there are other spots you are still able to take in the view as the sun goes down.
I encourage you to bring a friend who will enjoy the peacefulness with you. Everyone walking through is respectful of the naturally quiet environment. Unless your children are older, I would recommend you leave your young ones at home so as to not interrupt anyone else’s private moments.
If you haven’t taken the time to explore the Meditation Gardens yet, please do! Entry is free and there are a variety of small businesses close by to grab a coffee or bite to eat once you leave. See you there soon!
